Collection: Darien Flores
"Over the years I have gradually become a woodworker, but drawing has always been the foundation of artmaking for me. The works in this show include hand carved wooden objects, block prints painted with watercolors, some drawings and watercolors, and examples of likhita japa (mantra paintings). One unifying theme is the quality of attention involved in their creation. While wood carving is a subtractive process, and painting generally additive, with both there is a gradual, repetitive, moment by moment execution". - Darien Flores, November 2022
